The bowl-turning tool is a further development of the classic shaping tool. It has a circular cross-section and is perfectly suited for use on cross-grain wood. With its finger-groove cut, this tool is a true all-rounder and can be used to turn all sections of a bowl. The bowl-turning tool is used from rough shaping right through to the final finishing of the form. Many woodturners now also use it for working with fresh wood in the longitudinal grain direction.
Applications:
Cross-grain, and in some cases also longitudinal grain (wet)
Sanding sheet consisting of Velcro sandpaper, designed as a universal sanding agent for wood and metal sanding on hand-held sanding machines. Due to its large grain size, it can be used for coarse as well as for fine sanding. Manufacturer Klingspor GmbH & Co. KG Hüttenstraße 36, 35708 Haiger, Germany www.klingspor.de
This parting tool is designed for cutting workpieces. As the steel is wider in the middle than at the edges, it takes on a diamond shape. This special shape ensures that chips are removed more easily during parting and prevents the tool from jamming..
The moulding gouge is a versatile tool for woodturners. It is ideal for creating profiles and chamfers in longitudinal wood. However, thanks to its fingernail-shaped cutting edge with long flanks, it can also be used to work on cross-grain wood. This tool can be used to make items such as chair legs, stair risers or spinning tops. Thanks to the fingernail-style grind, the cutting edge of the tool has a small radius, and the flanks are ground evenly and well back. The bevel angle of the cutting edge is between 35° and 45°, which ensures a high degree of sharpness and allows the tool to penetrate deeply into profiles. The ground-back flanks reduce the risk of the tool catching in the wood when turning, for example, a round rod or a moulding. Narrower widths of the shaping tube are intended for finer shapes and contours.
